INTRODUCTION

The background picture on the page is the recording studio at Cork School of Music, on my conferral day for the MSc. (Music and Technology).

I also have a BSc. in Computer Science, but my main activities these days are music-technology related.

I have a home studio facility, and have recorded 2 albums of my own on it, the songs are hearable at JoeGarvey.BandCamp.com , or via the Music link (left).

Most of what I've recorded is in Cubase, though I have also used ProTools and Apple Logic.

My own music is somewhat biased toward orchestral rock. I use midi driven virtual instruments for the orchestration. Most of the samples of orchestration I have used are from SampleTank 2, though I have also used Garritan Personal Orchestra and Cubase Halion Sonic SE.

I use Steinberg WaveLab and Ozone 4 for mastering.

I have a third album in preliminary formation, and hope to have it completed for 2021.
